Venice is a veritable mish mash of sights, sounds, architecture, and culture.  Amid the hustle and bustle of hoards of tourists, you can get away from the busy areas and find many unique, quiet canal scenes like this.  There’s no better way to bring a city’s culture and history to life than through your own discoveries. 

Simply go out the front door of your Venice hotel, turn left or right, and start walking.  Go anywhere that takes your fancy.  If you see crowds of tourists, just dart down the nearest alley away from them.  And then you'll find your own "magic" places like this.  All of Venice is quite small and you can walk one end to another in less than an hour.
