Originally intended to be the State House for Pennsylvania, Independence Hall was built between 1732 and 1741.  It was the meeting place of the Continental Congress and the Declaration of Independence was adopted here in July 4, l776.  In 1787 the Constitution of the U.S. was framed in the hall by the Constitutional Convention.
